PBS Kids has a ton of great content for your child.

If you are tired of being sold another product by some YouTube star, or you are sick of your child acting like they are talking on camera as that is all they sit and watch, then you need to find something that your child will enjoy watching and still be entertaining. If you are stuck on YouTube, then it is time to break out of that world. You do not have to look far though as PBS offers some great content.

If you’re unfamiliar with PBS shows, then I’m guessing you didn’t grow up in the United States. Most kids grew up watching different shows on PBS, and as we’ve come into the streaming world, they’ve put a ton of their shows online for free. Shows such as Arthur, Sesame Street, Elmo, and more can all be watched with no cost to you. These shows are entertaining and educational.

PBS started as a station back in the 70s to provide quality content. It’s still broadcast over the air, but now large parts of the content is made available online and through available apps. You can watch some unbelievable shows on PBS for free, and they’re not just all for kids. You also aren’t going to be bombarded with ads for different toys and someone trying to sell you the latest gadgets.

You don’t have to worry about the educational content of the shows either - all of the shows are built around the idea of teaching kids something that they can use in their life. Whether they’re watching Daniel Tiger to learn about how life works, or watching Sesame Street to learn a new letter or number, the shows are geared towards teaching kids. They do it in a fun and engaging way as well.

I’ll be honest, we’ve been paying for an enhanced subscription to PBS Kids for a few years now. Having the ability to watch all of Wild Kratts and enjoy any episode of WordGirl is something that is invaluable to us, and we want PBS to be able to provide high quality content for many years to come. If you’re able to pay for a subscription, then I’d highly recommend you do so as well - it’s easily worth it.

If you’re trying to cut the amount of time your child watches YouTube (or you’re just trying to go cold turkey) then using the PBS Kids app is a great way to handle the transition. It still allows your child to enjoy fun content, but without all of the junk that is being pushed in kids' faces all the time on YouTube. You can be assured that your child is watching content that is focused on education and not advertising.

The biggest problem you’ll likely face is that your child won’t want to stop watching some of the shows. We’ve had days where we will watch way too many hours of content in a row because not only are the kids entertained, but the adults are as well. While you may not like all of the shows that are available, you’re bound to enjoy something on there. We have several favorites in our home.

If you’re looking for high quality content for your kids, then look no further. The PBS Kids app is completely free and offers an excellent choice for your kids.
