Healthy eating doesn’t have to be hard to accomplish. With a little planning, making a simple and tasty meal can be quite easy. Check out our other chicken recipes for more healthy meals for your family.

Fried chicken in pan

This is by far the least healthy option of all of our simple chicken recipes, but compared to most anything you’ll find in a restaurant or fast food location, this will be much healthier. This recipe is not meant as a replacement to a deep fried chicken recipe, but is still quite tasty.

This recipe, as with most of our others, can go with many different sides. One of the unique ways that I like to use this recipe is to put the chicken on a sandwich after it’s done. It makes an excellent choice for a chicken sandwich, in addition to just be a solid choice for a primary part of your meal.

Additionally, this chicken is probably the most difficult to prepare - it will require the most prep work, and hands on time. As such, it may not be something that you’ll prepare or eat as often as the other meals. However, I still like to make it every now and then to mix up how we’re eating our chicken.

I made this recipe up myself, although I’m sure that there are hundreds of recipes out there that are similar or the same as this one. I definitely am not a chef, and I’m not claiming that this is a masterpiece of a recipe. By using ideas from different meals that I’ve made, and things I’ve learned over the years, I was able to come up with this recipe.

For this recipe, you’ll need four ingredients: chicken breasts, flour, ranch dressing mix, and oil.

How to prepare fried chicken breasts

If you have really thick chicken breasts, start by slicing them in half so you have two thinner pieces of chicken from each breast. In a separate container, mix about 1 cup of flour with ¼ a cup of ranch dressing mix. Use less flour if you’re only making a couple of chicken breasts.

Place the oil into a pan - 1 to 2 tablespoons should be plenty, and turn the stove on high. Place a piece of chicken in the flour and ranch mix, and then flip it over. You don’t need it completely coated, but as long as there’s a bit of mixture sticking to your chicken, then you’re good. Place the chicken in the pan to start cooking.

You’ve got to get all of your pieces chicken coated with the mixture, so just add them to the pan and oil as they’re ready to be placed in there. The chicken will need to cook 5-10 minutes per side, depending on how hot your pan is. The chicken should turn brown (the flour mixture is what’s actually brown) when each side is done.

Take the chicken and place it on a paper towel to let any excess oil come off. Serve with whatever food you’d like to eat it with. Like I mentioned above, I really like this chicken as part of a sandwich, but you can eat it most any way you’d like.

Conclusion

Making a basic fried chicken is simple, and delicious. It will be far healthier than what you’ll buy at your local fast food restaurant, and you can enjoy it exactly the way you want it.
