If you are not used to farting and burping, then get used to it.
Kids like to pass gas. It does not matter what end it comes from, but you will soon find out that it is going to be a bit stinky in your house for awhile as your kids begin to fart and burp. If you are not used to the smell, then you will learn about it quickly enough because kids do not seem to have any filter when it comes to passing gas. It is all part of your child growing up, and you are lucky enough to get to deal with it.
When your child is still a baby and they do some farts, you might find it a little funny. Your child is now passing gas. If only it stopped quickly thereafter then things would be great. However, kids are going to grow up into even bigger gas making machines, and many of them have no filter on when they pass that gas. You won’t find it so funny in a few years when they’re stinking the whole house up.
To be fair, not all kids are going to make the entire house meltdown with their gas. Some kids don’t pass much gas at all, and when they do it’s generally kept more to themselves. If you’re blessed with such a child, please let the rest of us know how you made it happen. For most everyone else, you’re going to have to deal with a bit of gas from your child that may or may not really stink.
Passing gas is a natural part of existence. You pass gas, your partner passes gas, and everyone around you does as well. Fortunately, you generally only have to deal with your own gas and now the gas of your child. Unfortunately, you’re also often in close proximity to your child at any time, so you’ll become far more familiar with their odor then you may otherwise want to be.
Teach your child appropriate manners in regards to farting and burping. There’s a time and a place for these things, and you should be sure to excuse yourself to the restroom or away from others if you need to let one out. If they do accidentally pass gas at inappropriate times, then a simple apology to those around them will do. Passing gas is natural, but making others live with the smell isn’t very courteous.
For whatever reason, boys tend to be more liberal with their farting and burping than girls. That’s a broad generalization, and you will find kids of all genders on both sides of the spectrum. Regardless of gender, if you have a child who finds farting and burping funny, and they’re doing it to get a rise out of you, then good luck. You’re likely in for a long few years with them.
One way to help keep your home from smelling too badly is to make sure your child is eating a healthy and balanced diet. You’ll generally find that your child will not have as many deadly farts if you do. If they’re eating a lot of junk food (or a lot of protein), then you’ll probably find that your home will smell worse than you’d like it to. Eating healthy has multiple benefits beyond helping you to live a longer life.
Get used to gas coming out of your child. Teach them the appropriate times to pass gas, and to be respectful of others.
