Coding Robot For Kids

Trying to get young kids to sit down and do homework can often be a real challenge. If you want them to do anything beyond their homework, you can just forget about it. For example, if you want to move the robot forward two steps, then turn right, and move forward two steps, you have to input all of those commands immediately (this would be like having the robot turn around a 90 degree corner). You tell the robot to start, and it will follow the commands that you’ve input. If you didn’t input the commands correctly, then you’ll end up off course from where you wanted to get.

The toy comes with several additional pieces that allow you to set up different scenarios that you must solve. For younger children, these can be quite challenging to figure out. For older children, they will still need to think through how to move the robot around to complete what it needs to.

Even when kids aren’t working through different scenarios, they can still have fun with the robot. Simply type in a few commands for it to follow and let him go at it. If you want to make the robot dizzy, then punch in the turn command several times and watch him spin in a circle (and ultimately make a noise about being dizzy).

It may take a bit of getting used to and explaining to your child how the robot works, but they’ll be able to pick it up if you work with them. Some kids will be naturally gifted in understanding the logical way that the robot works. Helping kids to learn the analytical and logical skills will benefit them throughout their life, even if they go into a completely different field later on in life.

Make sure that you’re getting educational toys for your children as they grow. There will be plenty of toys that they just play with and don’t really challenge them to think. While these are great in order for them to relax and be creative, it’s also a great idea to help kids learn through playing.
